Sleeve surgery yesterday...In pain, help

Recommended Posts

Hi. I Had sleeve surgery yesterday, 11-28. What can I expect the first few days?? I was in a lot of pain yesterday taking pain meds every 4 hours. A lot of gas pain and bloating. I also have a lot of pain and muscle spasms when I try and drink. Concerned because I can not drink a lot at all as it hurts too much... Comcerned, when does the pain go away, when is it easier to swallow with no pain. What else can I expect? Also, any tips?

Did they give you like a body wrap at the hospital? Looks like a waist trainer. It definitely helped my pain and let me walk without feeling like I was pushing it. Sip your drinks and don't go too fast. Your tummy has just experienced a major change and is swollen so there is going to be some pain. Try a heating pad. It definitely helped me.

Thanks so much. No, they didn’t give me a body wrap. Yes, I am learning to take extra small sips, but still have some discomfort in getting my liquids down. Can’t wait to feel better.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
