Wow that is a trip! Very cool that we are all having surgery the same day and have the same name. We can all get healthy together [emoji1377]. Have you started you’re pre-op diets?

Have a great day!

I've been on mine for a little over a week. My isn't really too terrible. 2-3 Protein Shakes and 2 small meals of lean Protein and veggies per day. Lots of Water. No added sugar or carbs. No caffeine. No carbonation. I start my 3 day Clear Liquids on Saturday though [emoji51]

Hang in there, it is really tough. Today was the first day for liquid diet pre-op (my procedure will be on 11/28/17 and I felt hypoglycemic...I’ve been taking Kefir, broth, coffee, two Protein Drinks and cucumbers. Good idea on popsiclesł! Thanks! Don’t despair, change is not easy to come by but you, we, all of us will get there. You can do this!

You guys are inspiring. My surgery is Monday, Nov 20th. The pre-op diet is so hard, which is why diets don't work, right? I'm just hoping that cravings subside post-surgery. While we can't physically eat, those urges are tough.

So my surgery (sleeve) is on nov 21st and liquid diet started on Monday. There hasn’t been a day that I went with out cheating it’s so hard when you still have to cook and prepare food for everyone in the house. I have 8 days to get it together! Boyfriend keeps coming home with take out like his tempting me on purpose

What others have said, you have to shrink your liver. If your liver is too swollen the surgeon could abort the procedure out of safety concerns. I am sure you do not want that. Stay focused, stay strong, keep motivated, focus on the goal. I had to remind myself that I had eaten enough pizza, fast food and China buffets to last a lifetime. Had to get it together before my surgery.

That sounds good. I am also supposed to stay away from carbonation now and after surgery. I’m not a big soda drinker so that wasn’t a problem but I would love to be able to have veggies. I made cabbage Soup hoping I could eat it during this phase but they said no. I’m glad you are doing so well, great job [emoji1360]

I hear ya. I made my kids dinner and I keep thinking one bite won’t hurt. I haven’t given in but the temptation is there.

Oh you need all the support you can get so definitely have a talk with him

im so dreading the pre-op liquid diet

pre-op diet length will depend on my BMI 2 weeks before surgery. I’m between 43-45 BMI at the moment

if its 45 or less then its a week of clear liquids only *horrified*

if its over 45 then its two weeks of clear liquids + one meal of lean Protein and veggies a day

I feel for everyone that has to do a liquid diet! Omg! I have pretty much been on my pre op diet since April, because I had alot to lose anyway and was on a 1500 Cal diet the whole time. Everyone stick to the plan, fight the urges because I know it is hard! You are almost at the finish line to get your surgery!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
