Need some ideas...

Recommended Posts

Hi all - My surgery was on July 25th and I've been doing great up until the last 2 or so weeks. I started feeling nauseated when eating, drinking and in between meals/snacks and at first I thought I was taking too big of bites or drinking too fast, so I tried to slow it down. It seemed better for just a bit but came back quickly. I then thought I caught a stomach bug of some sort but its been about 2 weeks now and only getting worse. I have also tried taking gas-x and again I thought it worked yesterday but has come back worse today. I feel sick when I eat anything or even drink Water and also at night when I am sleeping, so I know I'm not getting enough fluids or Protein . I've had an emotional month as well with my moms declining health and passing a few weeks ago, so maybe I just have my stomach all in knots. I don't know what it is, so I need to stop guessing. I have just emailed the Dr to ask for help, but wondered if any of you have experienced this or have any ideas on what this could be.

It might be a stricture. https://www.realself.com/question/stricture They generally occur around 4-8 weeks post-op. You noticed symptoms at around 10 weeks. The fact that you are even having problems drinking fluids tells me this is abnormal. So work this problem out with your surgeon.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
