I was on Clear Liquids for the 1st post-op week before moving to full liquids the 2nd week.

The only things I consumed during that first week were sugar-free Powerade, sugar-free Ocean Spray cranberry juice, Water, and ready-to-drink Protein Shakes.

Good morning, my surgery is Tuesday and the stress is hitting. What did everyone “eat” the first week? I know it is all about the Protein but what did you use? Has anyone used GENEPRO?

I have not had it, but it was suggested by my NUT. Since it has no flavor, it can be put in Water with Crystal light, as well as in broth. I will buy a sample from GNC before I have surgery to try it out.

I was sleeved 10/11. Warm Bone Broth has kept me sane. Good luck.

Protein Drinks are the staple early out; I would avoid that GENEPRO stuff as it neatly fits into the "too good to be true" miracle supplement scam category (and nobody really knows what it is.) whey Protein, preferably whey isolate, is the well accepted, best absorbed form.

I also had greek yogurt, eggs, and some sloppy tuna salad, though those may not be permitted on some diets the first week or two - check with your program directions.

I was on clear liquids in the hospital so days 1-3 (discharged on day 3) and then Full liquids until my follow up so about a week and a half. I would eat broth, cream Soups strained and Protein Shakes. I liked the Atkins Protein drinks and GNC Lean Protein shakes.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
