My husband says he is being supportive but this whole week he's done nothing but eat in front of me. I'm not talking normal meals, I'm talking snacking constantly, in addition to the normal meals. I was sleeved on Monday so I'm not even a full week post op and I'm ready for him to go back out on the road again. I know this is a mental thing for me and I need to figure out how to be stronger but shouldn't he be a bit more sensitive to my feelings? I've told him more than once that it bothers me.

Yes he should be more sensitive especially in the beginning.

Spouses are weird sometimes, I swear as soon as you say diet they bring home the effing ice cream!!! They get nervous anxiety when things change. I doubt it's on purpose (unless they are truly azzhats) but we are hyper tuned into anyone eating in front of us especially now. Just leave the room, go for a walk - get an audible account and listen to books on your phone with your headphones on and your senses won't be focused on what he is doing.

Honestly, I don't think he is doing it on purpose. What I mean is, he is most likely eating the way he has always eaten but because you could join in or you would be doing the same, you never noticed how much it was. People tend to notice others doing what they can no longer do. Since you cannot eat currently, you are noticing more of what others are doing. I did it and I still do it.

You are just in the first week of frustration. Once you start eating meals again, you won't notice as much.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
