Hit the 3 week stall :(

Recommended Posts

I didn't know about the dreaded "3 week stall" until seeing it on various posts. It happened to me when I went on pureed diet stage (for me that was at 3 weeks). Discouraging, but "This too shall pass". Stepping up my exercise hoping that helps. Also having to take Miralax, issues with not "going" without it. Open to suggestions :)

Good to know, since I am having bypass on October 10th and my third week will also be pureed diet stage. I am sure it is because you finally are chewing something. lol Unless your pre op diet allowed food, mine does not and I am only on day 4 and it is so hard.

But otherwise, how are you doing? Has the three weeks been tough or are you feeling okay? I am getting a little anxious about it all.

My pre op diet did allow food, although strict, and Clear Liquids the day before surgery. I feel pretty good actually, abdomen still a bit tender/sore, but tolerable. Only had to take Tramadol under a week post op. Walking from the evening of surgery really helps with gas and makes you feel so good! I started slowly, and built up time and distance. I'm thrilled to say NO reflux at all since surgery & I had GERD with bad reflux before. No diabetes med. (was on weekly Trulicity injections for months prior) & my abdomen has noticeably gone down already - which feels so much better! Worth it already! It's normal to feel quite anxious before the surgery, believe me - I did! Even briefly question if you're doing the right thing, but for me, I'm so thankful I did and on the way to better health. Good luck with your journey.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
