Calories at 6 month/ Meal schedule?

Recommended Posts

HI all,

I am approaching the 6 month mark and have been in a 3 week stall. I am wondering if I am eating what I should be. I average about 800 calories a day and I am not sure if I am eating too much.

Average Day:

Breakfast: 3 oz greek yogurt

Snack: reduce fat cheese stick 1 or 2

Lunch: Turkey and reduce fat cheese roll up (4 oz)

Dinner: Ground turkey meat (4 oz)

Snack/ meal: spinach and cheese (3- 4 oz)

Just looking for some direction or what other people at this stage are doing?

We have virtually identical stats and your surgery was 9 days after mine. Since I seem to be on schedule, you have to be too!

If anything, you may want to increase your calories a bit. I eat around 1200 each day... so you can probably increase if you want.

Otherwise, stalls happen. Do not decrease your calories. You are doing great!

My meal plan:

Breakfast: 4oz cottage cheese and 3-4 oz fruit.

Lunch: 1 egg and 4oz black Beans

Snack: 1oz nuts or seeds

Dinner: 4oz meat or fish and veggies

Beverages: 1 cup milk and 2 cups coconut Water

I can't eat that much at each meal so I break it up.

Ok, I just figured out my calories are closer to 1000 than 1200, so not such a big gap, after all!

Are you exercising? That can make a major difference.

I have no idea what my calorie count was at 6 months -- I didn't do any tracking, ever, just tried to make sure I ate things that were high protein...

I am eating anywhere from 1000-1200 at 4 months post-op. I have always believed that gradually getting your calories up to 1200 is a good idea to keep your metabolism high. I honestly don't know for sure if this is scientifically true as I have read arguments both ways. i am still losing at a decent pace, 10.3 lbs average per month when you do the math. I am very active running 4-5 days per week.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
