Surgery went well today. The only discomfort I have is the area where my MD took a liver biopsy.

I originally had surgery scheduled for 12/19 with Dr #1- insured denied me. Then a Dr. #2 approved me but I had out of pocket expenses of $5k. I'm still doing it!! He scheduled me for 12/15 this Friday! Super excited, then i get a call to do it this Wednesday ---- holy smoke, I'm not ready for that so I'm sticking to friday!!! I seriously am freaking out that this is real!! After I got denied, I'd lost all hope. Wishing everyone a speedy pre op diet- what a trip this has been
Good luck everyone, I can't wait to see progress pics.

Scary that mine is outpatient.

Yours is outpatient? Yikes. I've never heard of that. Is the "MN" in your screen name Minnesota? That's where I'm from. Can I ask what hospital system? I went through Allina Health.

Did anyone's surgeon take a liver biopsy? That seems to be the only thing sore in/on me from yesterday's surgery. No gas pain at this point (knock on wood).

No, I didn't have a biopsy. What was yours checking for?

My labwotk came back PreOp showing fatty liver disease, so he wanted to check it out. He said the biopsy looked fine, and it should go away with weight loss.

Surgery is today! So freaked out right now I’m sitting in the staging area waiting to be called. This anti nausea patch has me light headed and a sever case of dry mouth.

Surgery tomorrow and the nerves are kicking in! I’m not so much nervous for the surgery as I am for life after. food has been my comfort for my entire life, so it’s kind of scary to think that I won’t have that relationship anymore. Overall, though, I’m excited to build a new, healthy life!

I am a week into my pre op diet...getting sleeved on the 20th. But man alive do i want something salty...these creamy sweet Protein Drinks are making me queasy. I have a bunch of home made broth that ive been drinking and that is the high point of my day, but the rest of the day is rough. Does anyone have any tips for finishing these last 8 days?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
