Beware of Quest protein powder

Recommended Posts

I went to the Vitamin shop today and purchased Quest 32 oz container of plain Protein Powder mix. After I got home, I open the container and noticed that there was only half of Protein power in the jar. The canister says serving size 32 scoops, but I discovered only 24 scoops. I called the VS and they said they will refund my money for the product. I will call the company tomorrow to see what the problem is. This stuff is too expensive to be short changed. Has anyone else had this experience?

I love Quest Protein powder.< br>The cannister usually isn't full to the brim.
Never actually stopped to count the servings, but I have noticed a new can isn't full to the top.
Might have been an error on the company's end.
The powder is awesome with Unsweetened Almond milk.

Okay, I will contact the company tomorrow. I just think for the price, you should get what you pay for. I definitely like the powder. I had a sample and it was really tasteless, in which I was searching for. I say some great receipts don Facebook

I'm a fan of the taste of Quest shakes, but they're just too thick for my preferences.

In terms of feeling short changed, the powder may have settled since packing. It may weigh what the packaging says, but the powder settling will cause the powder's volume to decrease between the time they filled the container and when you opened it.

In terms of measuring, volume isn't super accurate in the context of powders because you can pack them down very easily (changing their volumes)

Yes, I can see that. I just think for 34 you shouldn't be have only 24 scoops instead of 32

Protein powders are based upon weight, and not volume. A 32oz container contains 2 pounds of powder. The machines that pour this product should be pretty precise. Anyway, the denseness of the protein powder may vary though, so 32oz of 1 batch may contain less protein powder than 32oz of another batch. However, there should not ever be that much of a variation with the same brand. A 32oz container should contain between 29 and 32 scoops depending on scoop size. I would definitely be wary of the company if you are only receiving 24 scoops in a 32oz container as that is 25% less than you should receive. Next time, maybe pour the powder in a Gallon Zip lock and weigh it to see if it in fact weighs 2 pounds. That would be the only way to know.

They mix way too thick for me for immediately post-op. I could use them now, but I don't drink calories at this point.

They sell by weight not volume as other people have said and they are never full containers.

Quest powders are better for cooking with, than drinking. The Peanut Butter makes great Cookies.

Okay, the company contacted me right away and said that there is only approximately 24 servings per container and not 32. If you want them to replace your unused portion, they will free of charge.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
