Hello and welcome.

So tell us more about yourself, fill out your profile, etc.

I am halfway through month 6 of the 6 month required pre-op for insurance approval, so it will get scheduled after that last NUT appt. Then bloodwork, EDG, meet with surgeon, etc.

Welcome! My suggestion is to read, read, read on this site--there's such an amazing amount of information and discussions of just about everything. Take a look at the before/after pictures (there are threads of them) for encouragement. And feel free to ask any question that occurs to you!

Good luck.

G'day from the east coast of Australia.

I joined yesterday and have spent much of the last 16-17 hours familiarising myself with the site and its forums.

Tomorrow my time, Monday 4th Sept at NOON, I meet with my surgeon to finalise my gastric sleeve surgery date. (It's Sunday 3rd Sept 2:30pm now, the afternoon of Fathers' Day here.

Waiting with bated breath for this exciting 'path to the better future' for me.

Hi..... I too am new to this forum as of today. I have my Dr appt on 26th Sept. I have been researching and umming and arrrhhhing for the last 3 years but have made the decision to have the sleeve. I'm thinking about doing the endoscopic sleeve.... does anyone know anyone who has had it done this way?? I'm in the Newcastle NSW area. I had a lap band in 2005 but after 3 years had it removed. As most have done, I've tried every diet I could find and fed up with the yoyo so here goes! Sending my best wishes and thoughts to you all

Warm Regards

Rainbow Gypsy

Thank you Rainbow Warrior! Great your in the Newcastle area too! Agree ....the yoyo is soul destroying. Have lots of self inflicted comorbidities too and sick of popping pills for all that too. Hopefully with some surgery help I can also rid myself of those too and the misery that goes with it. I know it's not always a " smooth sailing" surgery but am at my wits end

good luck on your journey

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
