Taste changing 3 month post op

Recommended Posts

I have read about several people saying their tastes change post-op. Has anyone experienced it happening at 3 months post?

I used Premier Protein shakes pre & post with no issue. At 6 weeks I stopped shakes when I transitioned to normal food. However the last several weeks I have been low on Protein (60g from food instead of recommended 80g), so I've tried adding back a shake to meet my targets. At 10 weeks, the shakes seem to taste different - vanilla tastes like chemicals and the chocolate was chalky.

I have some other powders that I'll try, just curious because I assumed if tastes were going to change it would have been sooner.

I'm 6 weeks out and my Protein Powder sometimes give some me a weird reaction. I still need it, so I tried mixing it with Greek yogurt instead of Fluid and it helped. I'm using an expensive plain grassfed whey with no flavor. Just trying to not have a weird low blood sugar nausea reaction.

What kind of food did you transition to at 6 weeks?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
