6 Month Check Up - Almost to Goal (yea me)

Recommended Posts

I went today for my 6 month check up - down 72 lbs per the doctor's scale and I am no longer considered overweight! My surgeon said I was a star pupil as I am 6 lbs from goal. I now think I will probably go lower than my original goal, as getting in over 1,000 calories a day would have me eating ALL day long and that sounds like a lot of work and no time to get in liquids. I will see how things look and feel. I have appointed my daughter as the one to tell me if I need to level out and stop losing. My friends thought I was too thin 10 lbs ago. Really, too thin at 170! I think not.

I spoke with the nutritionist and asked her where I should go from here in relation to food. She said do exactly what you are doing. She said to get in at least 100g of Protein (400 Calories), 40g of fat (360 calories) and 50-100g of carbs (200-400 calories). Right now I average 50g carbs, 105g protein, 20g fat which equals out to around 800 calories a day. Sounds like I could be adding butter to my dishes!

This is such an amazing journey and I know it will continue. Best thing I have ever done for myself. Only regret is I didn't do it sooner!

@YeaMe Congrats! That is so amazing! If you don't mind me asking, what does a typical day of food look like to you?

Here is what I ate yesterday:

Breakfast - latte with 1 cup Fairlife skim milk

snack - Protein pumpkin low-carb muffin

lunch - 3 oz of grilled chicken, 1/4 cup of green Beans, 1/4 cup of red beans (minus the rice)

Snack - 1/2 Quest Protein Bar (made into cookies)

dinner - Same as lunch (went out for lunch so saved for dinner and threw the rest away)

Snack - 1/2 Quest Protein bar (made into cookies)

That equals out to roughly 750 calories.

I am single so I rarely cook but have found some really good ways to eat healthy!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
