Hi Everyone,

I am new and enjoying what I am seeing so far. It has been awhile since I have been involved in a forum. It is nice to be part of another one.
I also have my surgery date scheduled, it is Aug. 18th. So close, and I know it is going to go by very fast. I also know that being nervous is part of this. I am more nervous about after the surgery, then the surgery itself. I am not worried about the pain or how long it takes to recover. I am more concerned about what it is going to be like after the surgery. I have read what to expect, what can happen, and what will likely happen. I have also read many people talking about their experience and I have to say sometimes is scares me a little. I don't think anything would scare me out of having the surgery, so I a not worried about that. I just hope that I am able to handle the more icky parts of this surgery.

Oh and I am on day 2 of my pre surgical liquid diet. It's not too bad as I have done shakes in the past. Mostly I just have a headache and I am exhausted.

I think I had it fairly easy, had diarrhea until I started getting more solids in me, which for me was day 8. Other than being tired I didn't have many issues. I just went back to work Wednesday and of course that made me even more tired. I had my 2 week post op appointment Thursday and my Dr said my energy should be back no later than 3 months but most likely in 4 more weeks, the 6 week mark. Plus I can't have regular coffee till then so it's a double whammy! Good luck with surgery and after [emoji4]

I'm 4days post op still on the Clear Liquids. Protein Shakes not allowed until 8 days post op. So it's just broth and liquids with electrolytes mostly. I tried a sf Jello and couldn't finish it. No hunger, but I am tired. Naps are my best friend.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
