H-Pylori Treatment Nightmare!!!!

Recommended Posts

Of course I tested positive for the H-Pylori bacteria/gastritis and now have to be on medication to cure me before surgery. I was prescribed and took proton inhibitors and antibiotics this morning at work and shortly thereafter began feeling serious nausea and pain in my stomach. It was so bad that I had a trash can in front on me JIC I had to throw up. Luckily it passed and I've taken another dose tonight with some spacing (pro inh on an empty stomach and antibiotics 2hrs later on a full stomach) and so far nothing is going awry. I'm just so scared it may reoccur. Did anyone have to deal with this?

I had the same thing and it was terrible. So many pills at once and I felt sick every single day of the 2 weeks. Everyone is different of course, but this was my experience. I missed 2 days of work at one point for some major stomach issues.

Did you have to do the regimen more than the 14 days? Did you take anything else to help get a negative result when you got tested again? I have heard some say pepto bismol helps but not sure? I am taking biaxin, previcide and amoxicilin but want to make sure that it is gone before i do the test again as i don't want another positive result and have to do this all over :(

I did my 14 day treatment with no problems. Retested and it came BA negative. Just stick with it. I always took mines with milk to coat my stomach. Good luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
