Well, no.. I just thought it was clever, actually. Do be careful eating a bunch at once in case the sugar alcohols don't agree with you (but, I see you already did go easy, so all will be well, I'm sure ;) ).

I am so anal about this pouch. It is like I am a new mother.lol I nibble. I REFUSE to stretch my pouch out trying to eat the way that I used to. Everything seems SO sweet or salty now, even my Vitamins. How have you managed the change in your palette?

I agree about things being "too". For the most part I just cook everything for myself so I control the flavor. I avoid sweets, but at a birthday I'll have a couple bites of cake or ice cream. Don't really enjoy it, so it makes it easier to not have those cravings.

Since I'm not eating processed food, I actually need to make sure I get enough salt. My tastebuds are accomodating this need so salted nuts are actually good. (Lunchmeat still tastes like garbage though..too salty!)

I'm really enjoying my ability to taste food more fully... so good food is really good. But bad food is BAD. How the heck do people eat that stuff??? Lol!

I am afraid to eat nuts. What type of nuts did you try first. I know I probably won't try luncheon meat. The thought of the salt content is nauseating.

True Story:

I can honestly say that I have severed all ties with one of my oldest and dearest friends, Little Debbie snack Cakes. The sight and smell SEVERELY nauseates me. I couldn't believe it when it happened! We were just talking about them and it was like I could taste them !I began to dry heave initially, then splat!I lost my lunch.

I first tried nuts at 8 weeks postop. Cashews are very soft and don't have skins. Chewed them up very well, one at a time, no problem. I now eat all kinds, but limit it to 1oz a day (I weigh them out into little containers to grab and go).

I weigh out Peanut Butter the same way, and love peanut butter on celery with a few raisins on top.

Watched a few of the reviews on their site and the people seemed to have enjoyed these cakes and rolls. A sampler pack isn't too bad price wise so I might try them. I had previously tried something similar. Can't remember the name of the company but they were horrible and went moldy within days of receiving them. Thanks for the link.

You eat celery AND raisins?![emoji50][emoji50][emoji50][emoji50]Those are on the list of can't haves for WLS recipients, which floored me initially. Celery is off because it is fibrous and can clog the pouch and all dried fruits are off because of the sugar content and I LOVE prunes.

I knew we shouldn't have celery but no more craisins? I'm gonna cry - haven't had them yet but wanted them!

Lol! Well, I try and remove as many strings as possible from the celery.

Counting up the raisins....

According to the box, 40g of raisins contains 29g net carbs. I allow myself 15g of carbs from fruit each day, so I weigh out 20g of raisins, which happens to be 57 raisins (today).

Here is a picture of 20g raisins and 1oz each of nuts/seeds.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
