Day 3 post op. I have awful cramping pain. I'm only able to drink 5oz yesterday. Today I mixed Protein Powder (50g) with 5 oz milk and it takes me ALL day to drink it. The thought of forcing myself to drink makes me naeuous. I'm weak and very tired. Took lots of oxy last night, but none today. How much do you honestly drink at this stage. My nutritionist says 64oz, but that's not even possible. Help!

I just sipped Water or the Protein Drink (unjury chicken broth actually) all day. It wasn't easy. It took a while to hit 64 oz. Like maybe 2 weeks? But just keep sipping. That was the key for me.

Just keep sipping...try Protein Water or pre-made Protein Shakes like Premier. I'm 1 week post op today and able to get about 64 oz in. Just take sips. I stopped pain medicine immediately after I was released and did chewable children's tylenol. It could be the meds. I haven't taken any more tylenol for a few days. I've also been do french onion or beef broth, move onto yogurt today. Stay strong!

It's damn near impossible the first few days. Like the person above me says, closer to two weeks. I'm 11 days post op and I'm still struggling with Water although I can get my Protein Shakes in no problem. 64oz is a goal to work up to. Don't force it, you'll only make yourself miserable. Remember all liquids count towards the goal. Warm liquids go down better also...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
