Post op high blood pressure

Recommended Posts

Hello team,

My wife is 24 hours post op, now her blood pressure is slightly elevated, just ever so slightly, but it's causing her a headache that won't go away.

Any prior experience with this?

Thanks

Kamal

I did not experience this effect after surgery.

When I entered the pre-op stage, I gave up all carbonated beverages and caffeine. I ended my 6 diet coke a day habit. I suffered severe withdrawal syndrome from giving up the caffeine. This caused great headaches and body aches for about a week. Generally giving up caffeine is a prerequisite to the surgery. So might this be the cause.

you're inside a hospital, surrounded by doctors and nurses, all with training and experience with post-operative bariatric patients...

and you're asking people on the internet for help with your wife's high blood pressure?

She's already been released, why the sarcasm though? Thought we were here to ask for help and be helped

I had a caffeine withdraw headache for a few days post op. I agree, have her tale the pain meds. I took them regularly for the first few days then alternated with liquid Tylenol if the pain was mild.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
