I wait the full 30 minutes post eating and I drink something. Then, I feel like I have to vomit. This is not happening all the time, but most of it. I'm also struggling to get my Protein in. I'm about 7 weeks out. I thought it would get easier.

I frequently have to wait an hour or two to drink after eating a heavy meal. Because of this, I'll drink right up until just a few minutes before I eat.

If you start feeling dehydrated, you can always go back on full liquids for a day (no waiting to drink at all).

Things will gradually get easier, in the meantime, think outside of the box to get what you need..

You're drinking too soon, wait an hour.

I agree with @Berry78's advice. Try drinking right up to the minute you eat. I do this per my surgeon's instructions and feel fine when eating. However, if I have even a sip of Water after I've eaten I feel it. I typically have to wait about 45mins after eating to start drinking again.

Thank you all for the suggestions. Waiting an hour seems to be working a lot better. I don't know why my surgeon's office said half an hour. I really appreciate the support. I was at my wit's end. So sick of throwing up.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
