Any NH sleevers out there?

Recommended Posts

Well I'm not from NH but I'll be going through the surgery on the 25th...so we are going to be pretty close with the journey! Totally up for being a buddy if you're interested. Could explore the new sleeve world together lol

That is pretty close! I just had my last appointment with the bariatric nurse today and she went through all the specifics of the surgery. Have you had to do a lot of prep?

Well so far they kind of just threw me into my liquid diet alone. Next Monday I go to a pre-op bariatric class so I'm guessing that is to prepare me for surgery and really speak further in depth on what to expect before, during and immediately after. I also see my surgeon one last time on Monday as well. It's been a bit of a whirlwind to be honest. How are you doing with your pre-op liquid diet? How did your appt go?

I haven't been on a pre-op diet which I think is really weird. The only instructions I've been given is Clear Liquids the day before surgery and nothing after midnight. My appointment went really well! The bariatric nurse went through everything in detail, she was really funny and reassuring. I definitely agree, it's a whirlwind! How's your liquid diet going? I've never been on one but that'll be my reality next week!

Well I think it all depends on your BMI about what kind of diet they put you on before. The liquid diet is to essentially shrink the liver so you must weigh less and maybe not have a fatty liver. You're lucky haha actually the pre-opt has been great. I have been blending my Protein Shakes up to give them a little froth making them a tad more filling and that has been my life saver...oh and a couple sugar free popsicles to break up the monotony.

Best wishes for a excellent sleeve journey! I am originally from NH but, live in San Francisco now. You are probably having surgery right now and I am sending positive thoughts. I get sleeved tomorrow!

Take care.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
