Eating on the road/airports

Recommended Posts

When you couldn't pack or take your food...

I travel for work and on the rare occasion I need to buy meals at airports or on the road when I can't get what I need from a grocery store. I'm 8 weeks out from surgery and would like your ideas on what you have picked up at airports or fast food that is compliant. I can't tolerate chicken breast yet, so that limits me. So far I've bought a premade turkey/cheese sandwich and ditched the bread or bought the hummus/carrot/cucumber box. The only fast food I can think of that is compliant is Wendy's chili (which probably has too much fat).

(I'm fine when I can get to a Whole Foods or grocery store.)

I never had to limit fat so the chili was fine for me.

Another favorite of mine is the Starbucks Sous Vide egg bites. I get the egg white ones. Even now i can usually only eat one so the pair gives me a leftover for later!

Starbucks also has Siggis Icelandic yogurt which packs a huge Protein punch!

Thank you! I forgot about those egg bites at Starbucks. At the Oakland airport now and just grabbed a Dannon Light and Fit yogurt and a cheese stick. Ho hum.

I'm waving to you from BART.
They may be ho hum but good for you for sticking to the plan!

I'm planning for my first work trip at 8 weeks. I am putting together a care package I'm mailing to hotel as I refuse to check my bag.

I like to bring a shaker bottle and Protein Drink powders...like cran grape or lemonade. Gets me Protein and fluids!
I also like PB2 powder. Even the regular Peanut Butter to go cups...higher in fat and calories than pb2 but they work in a pinch.
I haven't tried my first Protein Bar yet but they were staples of my pre op travels. Also prepacked nuts.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
