Starting soft foods tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks post op and I can start soft foods now. I have been dreaming about scrambled eggs! But now I'm scared.

I've been tolerating shakes fine- although I am so sick of them!

What's the first soft meal like? Should I expect to get sick? :(

Also do I scramble it in Pam spray?

Thanks!

Lucy

Today is 3 weeks, post op for me. I started soft foods today, and had 1 scrambled egg white in Extra Virgin Olive Oil Pam Spray (I ate half of it). I also had a little bit of Greek yogurt. I did not get sick, but I had a little reflux, after.

Chew, chew, chew. More than you ever have before. Also, eating the eggs with a little mild salsa has helped me--both with getting eggs down, and adding some nice flavor :)

When I first started soft foods, I wasn't able to get even 2 oz of a ricotta bake down. Go at your own pace and don't force yourself to eat! You probably won't get sick, but you may feel some discomfort if you eat more than you can tolerate. The trick is to eat small bites slowly.

Look up how Gordon Ramsay makes his scrambled eggs. I've found that texture to be so much more pleasant than the rubbery chunks of eggs we tend to have here in the US :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
