That is one of my frustrations- different answers from everyone. I would pick a professional or group and stick with their advice. If you trust the bariatric nurse and your surgeon stick with them. You'll get a different answer every time you ask someone else!

Hi. I am approved by the psychiatrist, gastroenterologist, nephrologist and pulmonologist.
It was a bit difficult with the psychiatrist but I asked if I could continue seeing him for a while to help with medications, etc. When he said that my meds wouldn't work after surgery that really concerned me.
So, I got approved but have to work with the doc who prescribes my meds before the surgery. I will also do some research myself. We will be looking for the different forms of the meds - liquid, chewable, etc. We will also look at alternative meds to try if my meds stop working.
Ultimately we must be our own advocates.
Someone told me on here that really, he is a psychiatrist, not a bariatric professional. Therefore, I made an appointment for this Friday with the PA who works closely with my surgeon and I will discuss the meds issue with him.
I will come back to this thread and update you on what he said.
Talk soon. Nancy G.

Hi Nancy

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
