I was wondering is there was anyone that has had their lap band removed and a gastric bypass completed? My band seems to have a mind of its own and I am now awaiting approval from my insurance provider to replace it. If there is anyone that I can lean on for questions about life after the bypass and removal that would be great!

That's the procedure I'm having done on 9/11... lap band removal to gastric bypass. Mine hasn't failed, per se, but it did erode my esophagus and my GERD is awful!

letitgoeb can you tell me what your food intake is like now? What's on the menu for Breakfast?

I'm not a big Breakfast person... It's typically a cup of coffee (which I'll be trying to give up post surgery, much to my chagrin). I usually eat a yogurt or some nuts a couple of hours after I get to work. My band has always been tight in the morning, then looser as the day goes on.

Cateyez001,

I am set yo have mine removed and the Rousen Y (Spell) done on 14 AUG 2017. My Doctors stated this was the fastest they have ever seen a surgery approval, ever! Yeah for good insurance and good documentation! it took one week with one letter.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
