6 days post op. Having trouble.

Recommended Posts

I am six days. Gastric bypass. Today I got in about 30 ounces of Water so far and it's 5 p.m. . I had some Jell-O and I had one popsicle and I had a few ounces of vegetable broth. It seems that everytime I drink anything which I do sip comma is an effort. And my stomach and abdomen hurt a lot today as well. Feeling of it frustrated and I know I did not get in today what I should have. Any suggestions to help me get back on track. Thanks!

I know I still have time as it's only 5 p.m. so I'm going to do my best to get in some Protein Shake. Just wanted to add that

Be kind to yourself! you are still in major healing mode and it is totally normal to not be able to meet all of the vitamin/liquids/protein goals right at first. I think it took me nearly a month to get up to the required amounts. Just do your best and try and do a little bit more each day. I personally focused on liquids first because I didn't want to get dehydrated. Second I focused on Protein. Third was Vitamins and last was actual food. Before you know it you will be knocking out all of your required amounts without problem :) And I second the GasX recommendation - the burping is yucky for sure.

Also, Could try if you can afford it, Isopure drinks, they are expensive, but it's short term. It gets you the Protein and keeps you hydrated during the day. However, 6 days postop I was still doing Protein Shakes mixed with Water and water only per the doc.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
