Christian bandsters

If there are any Christians out there who are looking for special support during this time I thought we could start a thread related to this. It might help with those thoughts and doubts as to if this is the right thing we are doing or any other 'shares' that might come to mind. I could use some at this time in my walk.

Sister in Christ,

Valerie

Good morning everyone,

Praise God for his mercy and grace.

Candy, I praise God that the insurance DID pay for the fills. We are sooo blessed to have insurance. I will probably have to pay my co-pay starting my 6th fill (which is this month), but I'm grateful for the co-pay. I understand about being down, I have been beating myself up cause I have no restriction and I could eat a horse and ask for side order of cow. I come on LBT and read all the post that they are losing weight like crazy and I've lost only 47 since August, but my dr is not very aggressive. I have really been trying to keep some will power. I have lost inches but I just want to be like the others, but God made me and I have to realize I'm not like everyone and to be gratful for the 47 that I did lose. Praise to God and the holy spirit!!!!

2bemeagain, keep your spirits up and your heart guarded from the devil. I have come to realize my desire for the taste of food is a weak spot he can use against me!! Knowing this, when I get the urge, I pray for God's defeat of him!!!

Monica, welcome!! So glad you found this thread. You can't help but feel the peace within each written one, unlike the others on this site!!

Any April bandsters here?

I really love these names. Savedby grace, awomanGodcause.

I'm not a April, I'm a August.

WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to see that everyone is checking in, glad to see you posting, God bless!!!!!!!

Thanks, NeverB4, I will. You just blessed me..................:purplebananna:

gingin, I will be in prayer for your family. Have you ever heard the saying, "you might be the bible someone may read"? Well, that's you. You are the voice of reason. Matt:5:16 reads "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven". Sickness is not unto death. Sometimes we go thru the valley, but to know that we are not alone. Keep Andrew, Kerry and Olivia Rose lifted. Sometimes when trouble comes in like a flood, that's the time we are REALLY ready to hear about the Lord. We are here for you. We might not post everyday, but we check daily.

For those I didn't personally address, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

For those that have dates for your surgery, Praise God!!!!!!:purplebananna:

Be blessed and stay focus.

2bemeagain - I'm still here :frown: I was spending so much time on here that I had to wean myself off a bit. Life gets crazy sometimes!!

Candy - sorry to hear you were having trouble getting them to pay for your fills!! I know they are expensive. I'm self pay and part of my criteria was that the first year of fills be included for free.

I've been researching and found a local doc for when my year is up. My band doc is 5 hours away  New doc will charge $150 for fills (which is really good - I've seen it all they way up to $500 each). He won't see me unless I sign over all my care so he's on hold until I have to start paying

Hugs & Prayers to all!!

Gen (wombat)

Thanks Candy!! :frown:

I miss being on here. I'm going to work on limiting myself to this group, an exercise group, and my banded month group. I don't have the time to post and read all the big forums even though I love doing it!!

I'm struggling right now through back and neck pain. Arthritis doc sent me for Physical Therapy. I'm on week 2 now and they are only making me worse!!!!!!! Only 4-6 more weeks of this till MRI time!

May God poor out his Blessings on each one of us today, according to His will!

Gen (wombat)

Wombat, I am so happy to see you post. I truly understand. I think I have transfered my addiction to this web-site. I work in a classroom on a computer everyday and the most part of the day I am on this site. I need to spend time helping students and more with God. The weather is getting good and I walk more outside and talk to God. I will continue to check daily, but not all day.

I will be in much prayer for your arthritis, I have it too in my back.

Welcome back, I missed you.

Hello fellow christians:

I am being banded this Friday! Please keep me in your prayers. I have a peace and calm about this and know it's the right thing for me to do. God is an awsome God! I'll post on Saturday and let you all know how I'm doing. My surgery isn't until around 1 oclock in the afternoon. I'm assuming I won't be home until early evening on Friday.

Peace,

Susan:thumbup:

Congratulations!!!!!!! Livin4Jesus.

You will be fine. I will keep you lifted in prayer.

Let us know how you are doing when you feel up to it.

To God be the Glory!!!!!!!!

Hi, everyone this is my first time posting on the Christian thread. I am blessed to have found it! I am a newbie to this whole intire forum. I am going through the process to be banded. I already had my psych eval and was cleared for surgery. My next appt. is with the nutristionist and nurse on May12th. If all goes well, God's willing,I will have my final appt.with the surgeon and get a surgery date. My health is declining and I am physically in discomfort. I have prayed and dieted, and wasnt sucessfull that didnt effect my faith in God though. (still praying) I would of probally have wanted to get the surgery sooner but i said to myself am I dishonering the Lord's power to deliver me from obesity,by getting the surgery,am I not just praying enough for his will. I finally feel in my spirit I am not. I believe He has provided this tool to help me. It is comforting to be on this forum and be surounded by other Christians who have had the surgery or are in the process . Please keep me in your prayers! God Bless you all...

Gen, thank you for your kind words on my Bible devotion thread. I will keep you in my prayers for your arthritis. You've have done so great with your weight loss. I don't want this to be a discouraging time for you. Ps 107:19-20!!! God speed on your recovery.

Susan, may the Lord give you comfort and guide all hands laid upon you this Friday. Look forward to hearing from you Saturday. God bless!!!

Morgan, WELCOME!!!! Your words where "ditto" for me too. I've struggled with same feelings since a yr ago. I too am at peace with my decision because I've given my success from this to the hands of our Lord. With this peace, I also know I will have to accept any discouragement from Him when I meet him face-toface that glorious day!!

Thank you all for this site. It's my top one to read every day for encouragement. Then I check into my SC state one and the May bandsters. Other than that, I don't spend time on others much.

It's a beautiful day here, I pray all of you have one as well!!

Welcome Morgan, and I agree Brenda, this is one of the few places I check every day. And, Susan, will have you in my prayers! I know you all, like me, are thankful that God provided a way for us to start losing weight instead of gaining!!! I know I love having a place of refuge and support. Not everyone understands the journey we are undertaking and not everyone understands the struggle that we go through on a daily basis. I'm glad to have somewhere to belong.

I surf through some of the other threads to learn and I have the TX thread I go to. I also go to the one that has a TV program that I like.

My thing ,I'm just too much on here period. I make sure that I read here everyday. Everyone here (Christian site) is so motivational and "bible based".

NeverB4, I love Beth Moore. She came to Dallas about 2 yrs ago to my sister's church to speak at a Womens conference and she was a blessing to me. She is good friends with Tony Evans' (Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, my sisters church) daughter.

Morgan, God does give us the desires of our heart. Keep the faith. I prayed and asked for God's will to be done when I decided to have to surgery. I never felt guilty in wanting to have the surgery, not once, cause I knew that I couldn't do it alone and that he had created these things as a tool for us that wasn't as strong as some that did do it without surgery. Sometimes I get depressed about the weight loss, but that's because I'm looking at others success and not concentrating on my success wheather it be slow or fast, I will and can do all things through Christ that strenghtens me.

Be blessed everyone and may your day be full of praise and worship to the one that has made all of this possible.
