EGD Scheduled week before surgery.

I have my EGD scheduled next week Thursday 15th. It seems like everything is coming together before my DS June 22. I was excited about getting it all set up, I forgot to ask how long the procedure for the EGD is for. What was your experience??

  • Usually a half hour or less - you spend more time prepping and recovering from anesthesia than the actual procedure.

Wheen I had my ENDOSCOPE I was told no drivin, no making major decisions or signing any papers. It is true it only takes a short time. But you get to have one heck of a nap. LOL

  • Had my EGD done today! It sure was a breeze! It definitely takes longer to get prepped. Yes- I had an awesome nap too!!

Mine wasn't long at all, but it tied me up for the day just because of the anesthesia. I felt fine but they recommended not to drive that day after the procedure.
