After surgery

I had my surgery Gastric Bypass on 5/24 and was healing away. It took 6 days for a bowel movement and that was rough, the 2nd was worse. I have dice had the baby bowel softener to make things better (it has worked). Any suggestions for these hemorrhoids relief. They're so bad I had stopped taking pain meds but now I'm back on for the relief of this pain. I've used ice and heat and also bought the pillow with the hole. Anything else suggested would be fabulous.

keep on top of the Constipation and the hemorrhoid problem may take care of itself. Just figure out what treatment or combo of treatments work for you. A lot of post-ops deal with constipation forever, although it's a little easier when you're further out and eating more Fiber. But I still have to keep on top of it so it doesn't get out of control. I take magnesium every day, plus Miralax a couple of times a week, plus Milk of Magnesia for a night or two if I get really backed up. But figure out what works for you...

The good news is that it does go away! But I was super concerned after I was released from the hospital. Also consider that if you had a catheter (I think this is standard for most patients), a few days after it's removed, you'll begin to heal and feel like it's improving.

You may want to look I to purchasing a sitz bath set up for your toilet. You can buy one at any pharmacy. Hang in there!

Preperation H or Tucks work good. I ysed them after each time I went poo!! They are the PITS for sure. Before my RNY I had "the back door trots" every time I ate!! It makes for a very sore bum. Now I have a hard time going but I would take that over constant runs any day!! Good luck I hope you find the thing you need to help you with the go.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
