Unfortunate Life Event

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on 3/20 and was doing really well - good food choices, gym, exercise, Water intake - then about two weeks ago, my mother passed away.

Aside from the obvious emotional issues, I had to travel across the country unexpectedly and spend 12 days without my own kitchen, food options, etc.. I didn't track anything during that time, but I know there were days when I went over 1000 calories and I definitely ate some carbs when I saw them.

I am now back at home, trying to get back on track. It's hard. I haven't been back to the gym yet. I will be going to see my therapist and back to my WLS support group next week, but could use some advice/motivation/success stories between now and then.

Here's hoping I get up early for the gym before work tomorrow.

I'm so so sorry about the loss of your mother. Hugs

I understand how you feel as I was there. I went on holiday on and off for 3 months and only in May I was able to get back on track. I gave myself mini-goals in order to get back on track. Mini-goal 1 drink my Water everyday. mini-goal two cut out the sugars and carbs. mini-goal 3 go to the gym at least 4 times a week 1.5hrs each session. Mini-goal 4 get my Protein in etc.

I can only imagine in your situation it may be harder but try to keep your focus on the goal.

Lots of hugs for you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
