Hi Everybody!

My name is Kati and I am in Eureka, Ca. I am pre-op gastric bypass, and will be having my surgery done at UCSF with Dr. Carter (has anyone else had him???) My pre-op appt is June 7, and I have a tentative surgery date of June 26, which will be finalized at the pre-op appointment. I have yet to have my info sent to insurance, but the medical assistant at the surgeon's office has reviewed my file and has determined that I have met all of the insurance requirements, fingers crossed!

I have to travel 5 hours for my surgery, and then home after, and am a bit nervous about that. Has anyone else had experience with this?

I have been overweight since my teenage years, but my dysfunctional relationship with my body and food began long before. I remember thinking I was fat at age 4. My highest weight ever was 330. I am currently vacillating between 315 and 321.

I am scared most right now about insurance covering it, I have Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield in CA. Anyone else have experience with them?

I look forward to learning from and getting to know ya'll!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
