Mid 30s still struggling

Recommended Posts

I started my journey for the idea of a bariatric surgery back in December 2016. I quit drinking soda beginning in January, and I've recently hit a plateau :( I don't get much if any support from my family, and I don't really have any close friends. Looking for some support groups/friends that would motivate me, and be eager to share with me.

Happy Friday! I am so sorry you don't get much support from family or friends. I honestly don't either. I have become my own motivation. I hit plateaus a LOT. I just keep pushing forward. I will have setbacks where I will stop and maintain/gain a few pounds for a couple of weeks and then I get angry I let myself fall back. I think the main thing that works for me is thinking of all the things I want to do, clothes I want to wear, wearing a bikini to the beach (maybe...) lol just thinking of the future motivates me.

Feel free to reach out to me anytime :) Have a wonderful weekend.

Tiffany

I'm sorry you are without support. I was pretty out in the open about everything on my end. I'm 6 months post op and it has its ups and downs. For me, it was the best decision of my life. I'm down 108 lbs from my highest weight a few years ago and 67 since surgery. It isn't easy, though. My hormones are a mess and I'm still trying to find out a good balance with calories, etc. However, it IS worth it. Hang in there. You can do this.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
