Here I Go (My Journey Thus Far)

Recommended Posts

Just some of what was happening that caused me to breakdown. And I'm not usually an emotional person like this.

The nurses are nice. The staff just doesn't answer when u press the call button!
I actually fell asleep waiting for them. Was in so much pain started crying man. It was the worst. Imagine being alone sick and no one is coming to check on you. And u can't do nothing for yourself cause you can't move. [emoji24] At least if I can get home I know someone there cares about me. Shoo.

Today it took 20 mins and then they didn't come I yelled out in the hallway. Nurse apologized and said no one called her

Yeah so I'm not bothering with call button anymore. 5 mins later no one answered. So I walked over to station and there's like 5 people there! I just asked them to call my nurse and she came right away

Unfortunately I couldn't move so I had to rely on call button again

Ok enough sad stuff: hey this beef broth is good! After not eating for so long I'm loving this. Forcing myself to go real slow though. So far so good, no issues or noises. It just feels like regular to me. Don't notice difference in stomach yet.

And you still reckon your going straight back to work.its emotional

I do. I have great coworkers and a great boss. We're like family so although they don't know what surgery I had they do know I had surgery and will support me.

It's taking all my willpower not to grab this bowl of beef broth and gulp it down. It's sooo good. [emoji39]. But I know I have to do small sips. Then after I'll go for a walk before trying the rest of my liquid tray

I love your posts!!! Welcome to the club! You remind me so much of myself when I went to surgery! I'm 7 months out and I can tell, I have no regrets. If I had to go back in time, I would choose having the sleeve again in a heartbeat.

So I made it through the nasty Gelatin. Then a cup of crystal light. Just 1/2 cup Water more to go and I can be discharged. As long as I don't throw up.

So I finally made it home around 7:30pm. Pain meds had worn off so I had to wait to get home to take otc meds and let those kick in.

Day 1 home so far has been a struggle. I'm struggling to drink the Protein and get my Water in. Ugh

So far I've drank 1 Protein Shake and about 20ounces of Water. Throat is killing me though. Struggle to swallow.

I had my first bm earlier today as well.

All in all the pain is much less than my previous c-section. In fact if my throats was good I'd be doing much better.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
