Weight dropping but measurements not??

Recommended Posts

So I'm losing weight pretty consistently (43 lbs down since surgery), and my clothes are getting bigger, but my measurements are not changing?? They have dropped some, but they have not changed in the last 20 lbs or so that I've lost!!

Makes no sense! Anyone else notice this?

I'm having the same problem. My measurements don't seem to be budging that much. I've been taking measurements since I started my pre op diet and I'm budging up top. I was on my loosest bra hook and I just put it on the tightest. Surgery was March 6th. Also my body fat percent isn't moving either. I work out 4 times a week for an hour. I've checked my body fat with one of those hand held devices and I'm only down 3.2% since my pre op. I'm so upset about this. I mean I don't expect it to drop overnight but I expected a little quicker. I am a revision from lap band and I was a slowish loser then too. But I felt I lost inches more. I've only lost 32# since my pre op diet.
I'm trying to up my calories and Protein to try to help. Since I've only been averaging 700 calories and I don't want to kill my metabolism.

You would be surprised where you carry weight. Unless you are measuring every square inch of your body, you have most likely lost size as well.

I'm having a similar experience. I measured myself this week and was surprised that I'd actually gained inches. Not a lot, but still I thought, what??? Then yesterday I tried on a skirt and a dress that were too tight 2 weeks ago and lo and behold, they both fit!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
