What was the first food you ate when allowed soft foods?

I was advised by the nutritionist to start with Greek yogurt. My program doesn't do purees at all. Just clear liquid/protein shakes straight to stage 2 soft food with 3 "meals" a day. What was you first soft food and how did you do with it? Did it go down well?

I want refried Beans badly. I'm allowed to start my soft foods today. Will have Greek yogurt for Breakfast. Not really wanting that for all 3 "meals," I don't think.

I ate the heck out of low fat refried beans with low fat cheese and a little salsa - still do 5 years out

And the small salad shrimp - that's my snack alot of nights

I wish I could learn to like cottage cheese. I'm not a big cheese person and those little curds...I don't know. I was looking at the cottage cheeses in Wegmans yesterday. Maybe I will try it. Any brand suggestions?

I'm in Canada and the brands are different, but definitely try a few types. There is only one brand I like, the rest turn my stomach and seem to have a weird taste.

(go for full fat! So much tastier!)

Scrambled eggs with a little shredded cheese and salsa at 3 weeks with no issues.

I'm still PreOp but I can understand your dislike for the curds in most brands. If you have Knudsens brand the small curd is so small I never noticed the curds. I always liked the yellow package (probably 4%). Moved to Minnesota 20 years ago, they don't carry it. I finally broke down last month and tried the Daisy 4% the curds aren't as small, but it is good tasting cottage cheese. I like it with salt and pepper.

At the 3rd week I was allowed to eat 1 egg a day and all the full liquids I had drunk the 1st 2 weeks. So my first egg was scrambled. I had 1 poached egg or boiled egg or scrambled egg a day for the whole third week. After that week I didn't eat or even want to look at an egg for about a month.
