Any March 2017 sleevers! Let's share info!

Recommended Posts

Sleeved in March 2017. Doing well --lost 34 lbs so far and now on soft foods. Trying to keep bites small and slowwwwing down when eating. So hard for me to get my Water in....I try and try and get about 48 oz in before I just cannot drink anymore. I know pure water is the best but at night, I just like a cup of hot tea. Relaxing. Tips for water??

I was sleeved in March too! Down just about twenty pounds since my surgery.

A hot cup of tea totally counts as a fluid! So does a glass of milk, or a Protein Water, or an iced herbal tea! Give yourself a break and expand your definition of Fluid LOL! As long as you're not guzzling frappucinos or big gulp slushies, count it! I really like iced herbal tea and fruit infusions. Helps add a little bit of flavour to my water. But I do like plain ice cold water, too.

If I limited myself to just pure water though, I'd definitely be struggling lol!

My main struggle is I'm a gulper. I would drink lots of water pre-surgery, but not throughout the day, more like whole bottles at a time! Now I can't do that it's harder to get it all in. Or I forget I'm post surgery like an idiot and chug water and get that terrible forboding pain of doom reminding me I am no longer a person with a normal sized stomach capable of chugging a litre of water in the span of ten minutes LOL.

I do the same thing and get that feeling of "oh nooooo....this is gonna hurt in a second!" Lol. Good job on the loss!! How is your food intake going? I just started soft foods and it's trial and error. I am limiting carbs and eat Protein first and then my veggies. I am exercising 4 times a week and starting to run again which makes me happy!! Thanks for the info on the liquids. It sure helps to see what everyone posts about -- all of the new things on this cool journey we are on!! [emoji4]

Hello! I was sleeved 3/13/2017 and am 6 weeks post op. I forget to eat and drink slowly at times but when I get that painful feeling in my chest, I remember! Lol. My last weigh in before surgery was 235 and today I am 205.2. :) I feel hunger now but it could be acid, I'm only able to eat two spoonfuls at once and then I'm extremely full.

I also didn't follow a two week preop diet, my surgeon only required me to do it the day before surgery so all my weight lost was after surgery.

De....nice weight loss! I can eat better in the morning and at lunch. Dinners are another story. I get extremely full extremely fast. But! I can drink more in the evenings .... just what I need, right before going to sleep! My life...extremely crazy!

Ditto y'all. Surgery March 20. Down 20lbs since surgery, 35 total. In a stall right now. I can eat one ounce of dense meat, or 2 oz tuna salad, but 4 oz of cottage cheese or a pint of milk. Feel like I have to eat and drink all day. Haven't started getting many veggies yet.

Only thing that hurt a smidge was the cheese on the egg. Provolone isn't soft enough.

I take 22oz of coffee/milk/vitamins/fiber. Takes a couple hours since it is thick like pudding. Tastes good, but can't get anything else in before noon. Helps with the bathroom though!

On day trips I make a yogurt, Peanut Butter, banana smoothie. Drink it while heading down the road.

Tuna with ranch dressing is yummy!

Berry! Great suggestions!!! I will have to try some of those!!! cheese is not my friend. I had a teeny cube of colby jack and ugh! Will have to wait and try that later!! How does Peanut Butter settle on your stomach? I haven't tried that but love pb!

Since the pb is mixed in the smoothie, I haven't had trouble. I actually lick the spoon too, and that is heavier. Don't think I want to try a plain spoonful quite yet. The smoothie with yogurt can be a bit tart. Cottage cheese works too!

My stall broke today! 269! (It is so much more exciting when the tens unit ticks down!) I haven't been in the 260s since 2008.

Yesterday I was able to squeeze into previously too small pants. Not wearable yet, but I have faith it won't be long!

I was sleeved March 6th, second week of surgery got dehydrated and caught a bad uti, could not take in Water hardly at all! Now i am doing much better on water intake, i feel like i started solids too early but i handled the food intake easily, of course i cant eat a lot in a setting but i feel hungry like every 2-3 hours. I have only lost 20 lbs since March and started walking 1-4 miles a day depends on the day. I know this is a longer process of weight loss so i have to stay positive. I pray i do get this weight off though. Keep up the great work sleevers!! we got this!

Amy! Congrats on your loss!!! This is a journey for all of us! We will succeed! I keep telling myself that it is not a race....that some weeks I won't lose anything and some I will. As long as I stick to the plan, it will happen. I love all the encouragement we can give to each other as well!! Have a great day!!

I was sleeve on 3/29 and I am down 20 pounds. I have only lost 1 pound in the last two weeks which is hard. I too have not really started incorporating fruits or veggies because I barely get in my two ounces of Protein. I start soft food today. I struggle because I would much rather drink than eat. It's hard to set aside 45 minutes of not drinking. The 30 minutes after eating is like torture for me. I love not having the desire to eat. I know this is a slow journey but I am just looking forward to this stall ending!

I also prefer drinking much of the time. I don't stress about whether my Protein is coming in solid or liquid form. Eating will come in its own time. I give you permission to drink more meals ;) (I'm not a doctor, though I play one in the bedroom!).. so take the recommendation for what its worth.

MX... congrats on your loss!!! WTG!! This is truly a journey where we will encounter great times and not so great times. Stalls are hardest for me as I work so hard to keep on task for everything I am supposed to do. To not see a result is hardest for me. But...they will end! You can probably see patience is not one of my virtues!! Haha.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
