Today is post op day 1! And things are going really smoothly and really well!

I have started on Clear Liquids consuming Water , a popsicle and liquid pain meds. I have been up walking walking walking and so far knock on wood I have not had any gas pains yet.

If I am able to continue with the clear liquids and not have any nausea /vomiting and the pain is under control (if there is any ) I will be able to go home possibly later this afternoon early evening.

So far this has been rather easy and I would like to thank everybody for the positive vibes, prayers, and encouragement leading up to surgery.

Now to start looking weight! I know you go home possibly bloated and weighing slightly more but right now I feel like I am just a walking barrel of liquid. Amy suggestions on how to get the weight loss going?

Follow the directions and the weight will begin coming off! Don't rush it...one day at a time. Congratulations!

Yep... follow your doctor's instructions.... most importantly get those liquids in and get that Protein in. I was one of the fortunate ones who never had gas pains post op and I also was able to get all of my liquids in and protein in from, the very beginning.

Be sure to get at least 64 ounces of liquids every day and over 60 grams of protein.... shakes are great for that, but so is unflavored Protein Powder like Unjury or Isopure... it's great because when you are on your full liquids, you can mix it into your broth or cream Soups or even yogurt, if you are allowed all of those things on full liquids. Also, it mixes great into Crystal Light, Powerade Zero, and Decaf iced tea.

Meeting your liquid and protein goals will help the weight come off.

But remember, you just had major surgery, and your body might actually go up in weight in the beginning, or it might be slow to come off at first. Just follow the plan and be patient and you will be on your way to a slimmer healthier you!

Congratulations on your surgery and I hope you have a speedy recovery! :)

The weight loss will get itself going. Trust us on that. :)

Because of another condition, I spent a lot of my first two weeks after surgery asleep and wasn't able to walk as much as most people do.

I still lost 20lbs in that time!

Now I'm three weeks and two days out from surgery and down 30lbs, losing steadily. My waist is down 5 inches.

Listen to your body as it heals, keep hydrated and get your Protein in. Walk as your healing allows.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
