Hi all I'm new to the forum and need some advice. I'm booked in for my sleeve in June and I'm really nervous. I want to lose around 5 stone - I'm 6.1 male 46 years old and Weigh 22 stone. My ideal weight is around 16 stone and no less as I've got a big frame and will look ill if I loose anymore.

When you reach each your target weight are you able to Maintain without losing anymore weight by increasing your calories? If so how is this done when you are still only able to eat a fraction of the amount of food you could before.

Any advice would ould be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

As your weight goes down, you burn less calories. As time goes on, you also, will have less restriction. Which is why it's so important to learn healthy habits and make lifelong changes to your relationship with food in the beginning when you have the most restriction.

Your body will find it's happy place. Just continue making healthy choices. Maintenance is trial & error for a time, until you find the balance that works for you.

Best of luck with your surgery, wishing you much success & happiness. For me, it's the best thing I ever did for myself! Only ONE regret, that it wasn't an option YEARS ago, lol!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
