So.....I'm scheduled for May 2nd, and my dr doesn't require a pre-op diet. Which is awesome! But also not awesome. I trust my dr, as he is very well respected and has been doing these surgeries for a very long time (and I know several people who have used him). But, I still feel a bit anxious that I have no required diet. So, I thought I'd do it on my own. Can't hurt and I'm hoping it'll help me get into the right mindset. Can anyone share the kind of pre-op diet they're following? Thanks!!

Same here! I'm scheded for 5/31. I have to go to a final class and meeting with my surgeon 1 week before. I belive there is some sort of diet right before sx time. However, I'm trying my best to be conscious of how I am eating, chewing, and what I'm putting in my mouth. Good luck to you sleeve sista!!! 💜🎉

My surgery is scheduled for April 25th. I have to do a 1 week liquid diet the week before, and a clear liquid diet the day before. I'm also starting a low carb, high Protein diet on Monday. My nutrionist suggested building up on protein to help my body during recovery.

My surgery is April 13th. I'm currently on my liquid diet. I sent you a message and attached a few files that my dr gave me to follow a proper liquid diet. Hope it helps. Good luck!!!

I'm on day 5 of my 14 day pre-op diet. 4 Protein Shakes a day (2 high Protein like premier, 2 lower protein like slim fast), and 3oz chicken with 1 cup broccoli for dinner. All Clear Liquids day before surgery. and something new they just started that shows improved healing: 16 oz of regular (not sugar free) Gatorade then night before surgery and 16oz more the morning of surgery (finished at least 3 hrs prior to surgery).

Is your surgery April 12th? Mine is April 13th. Wish I could get some chicken and broccoli in for dinner but he's strictly liquids. My dr also requires 16oz of Gatorade to be finished 3 he's prior to surgery and day before. My surgery is at Memorial in Savannah, GA. I'm excited and nervous. Good luck to you and hope you have a speedy recovery.

I'm may 1s and also do not have a pre op diet other than clear liquid the day before surgery. I also did not have a pre-op weight loss requirement if you are a patient that had to quit smoking (which I did.) every surgeon is so different! Maybe I'll hop on the train with you and do a week prior!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
