I'm wondering what others take to relieve Constipation. I've tried MOM, and laxative tea, but it didn't work. Every time I try to go, it's so painful I feel like I'm going to pass out from pain. Any suggestions ?

Regular OTC laxatives work but you might have to increase the dose. Read the package and you will see the recommended dose follow by something like "don't exceed 7 doses in a 24hr period". Well, there you have it. You can actually take up to 7 at a time. However, this is just going to be a temporary thing so don't use it every day. When I was on my laxative phase I only took laxatives once or twice a week. Your body will adapt to your high Protein diet and eventually you will have normal bms. Remember to drink lots of Water. You should be sipping water literally all day long.

I'm not sure what MOM is but I have Miralax, it's a stool softener. Also, adding beneprotein every few days helps with softening the stool too.

How often do u take miralax?

I keep track of my bowel movements in my mini planner. When I see I'm 2-days with no bowel movement, I take Miralax. One cup for that day is all I need.

I made an error in my post, I meant Benefiber. We consume so much Protein which makes our poop so hard. Fiber helps it go through more.

I take 20mg of Bisacodyl daily. If I don't, I can't poop. I still need an enema a week or so. Miserable doesn't even begin to explain how I feel.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
