Sore throat 2 days before my EGD

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm scheduled for my endoscopy on Monday at 10:15am. I woke up today with a sore throat this morning and little bumps in the back of my mouth. I feel perfectly fine otherwise but now I'm really nervous that they will cancel my procedure. Did this happen to anyone? If so, did they still see you even though you didn't have any other symptoms?

This whole process has been overwhelming for me. I found out last week that I need my gallbladder removed because of gallstones. I really can't afford a set back

Thanks for listening and sharing your experience if you have one.

Oh no hopefully that won't push your EDG back. I just had my GB ultrasound today and my EDG Is Monday as well... Did you have any symptoms of gallstones?

I have pain in my back, abdomen, and right under my rib cage on the right. My stones are fairly big. One symptom that I have and I didn't know it was related is I have digestive issues when I eat certain foods. So I cut out fried foods months ago due to the pain it caused me. I think I'm coming down with strep so I'm going to hit up an urgent care tonight and try to get on meds asap.

They should be able to clear it up pretty quickly. Good luck and get well soon

I had a cold when I did my actual surgery and it was no big deal. I was afraid to that they were going to cancel my surgery but it didn't. The EDG I doubt unless you have a fever that it will greatly affected and if you're not taking any biotics so if you haven't been prescribed anything then I really don't think it will matter. But definitely disclose all of that information to your provider when you arrive tomorrow

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
