Hey!
I'm new to this app/site & I'm glad that your post is the first that I saw because I am too! My date is the 16th & now suddenly I am EXTREMELY nervous. I haven't really told anyone because I feel like I'm "supposed" to be excited! Which I am but I'm also so bet nervous!
Point being- u are not alone!

I feel the same way. I'm so anxious, but I am excited too and ready to start the rest of my life!

I think it'd be less common to not be anxious. We are undergoing a big surgery that will change our lives. I don't even have my date yet and I'm anxious! I'm sure I'll be a lot more nervous when it's just days away. Hang in there you are so close to the other side!

Can't wait to get to the other side. And start losing lots of this weight. I think once I'm on the bed and they give me the "Coctail" I'll be ok. It's when I wake up from it that I'm more nervous about. But I know I can do this I'm not letting my brain and food stop me from achieving a healthier me.

I am feeling the same right now. I am scheduled for tomorrow morning. I believe this feeling is completely normal. I can't wait to share my experience with you all.

I think you would only have to worry if you were NOT having some anxiety. It is very normal for anyone going through WLS.

Best wishes!

You can definitely be both excited and nervous.

Personally, I'm excited because of the changes that come with the surgery that will aid my dietary and fitness changes. Getting back to my normal weight is going to be good, but I'm excited too because I've finally learned what I did wrong to get to the weight I got to in the first place. There are those of us who sometimes need a harder lesson than others. *raises hand*

I'm nervous because as with all surgeries there's inherent risks to it. The odds of something drastic are ridiculously small of course.

There's nothing wrong though with mind-screwing yourself into thinking positive, assuming your decision is informed, you're physically/mentally able to have the surgery done, and the pre-op and post-op commitment is already there. Adding stress to yourself can actually make things worse. As someone who is a hypochondriac, I most certainly have done my best to perfect this art of (logically) BSing myself.

Nervousness and anxiety are absolutely normal. I had so many fears, doubts and concerns before the big day. But I pushed though them and followed through. So thankful I did. I am 25 pounds lighter and moving towards a happier healthier me.

Good luck and take care

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
