Looking for weight-loss buddy/partner PA

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, this is my first post on here, I just recently had gastric bypass surgery on January 23 of this year, and I'm looking for a good support system. I've been struggling with my emotions being all over the place as well as my energy levels and eating tolerances. I keep hearing that all this is normal, but I'm just needing a friend or friends that have been where I am at or are currently dealing with the same issues to talk to. My family is very supportive, but I have never felt this out of control of my own body and emotions before. Any advice is welcomed!

I had surgery on Jan 10th your energy will get better as far as your emotions that will change also. My family has been very supportive especially my sister that had this done 5 years ago, she's doing great. She was a size 5x and now she weighs 116. She is my mentor and she lives in fl and I'm in Nashville. Always always talk to whoever, there is no silly question. Good luck, by the way I'm a Latina also and we love food right but you can do this

Thank you for the words of encouragment. We Latinas do love food. Cooking, eating, sharing, doesn't matter, food is just a big part of life. Even though I can't eat many things now, I have found in the last week that I enjoy cooking. Just that, cooking. I don't have to eat the food, only cook it and feed my family and I'm fine. It has become a therapy of sorts for me. Also, the mood swings are getting better. I am on a soft foods diet now and I think the introduction of things other than liquid and puree helped.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
