4 month stall

Recommended Posts

This is my first post to a forum. My weight loss has completely stalled at 4 months and I am still 28 lbs from my goal weight so I am hoping that discussing my struggle will shed some light on how to stay on track and get the scale to moving again. I am eating 60+ grams of Protein a day. Typically 900-1000 calories a day. Drink lots of Water. Generally keep carbs below 40.

Are you exercising? How long has your stall lasted?

Yes. I do strength training 3 days a week and walk and run stairs 5 to 7 days a week. Stall has lasted a month. so far

Everyone goes through a stall here and there. I'm 7 months out from my surgery and I've hit several stalls sling the way. Some that lasted 5 or 6 days. Your body will do this and it's normal and then you'll start losing weight again. Dint panic and stay on track. Remember Journaling your foods is really important to keep track of what you're eating. Sounds like you're doing everything right, so just give it a little bit.

I bet you are building muscle too. Stair climbing really builds up the legs and booty. I'm 3.5 months out and I've had several stalls. They are very frustrating but I just keep following plan, journal everything and exercising. My clothes are getting smaller and the weight is coming off so I'm satisfied; However, I may only lose 5 lbs a month now. I would definitely measure yourself or go by what your clothes are showing you, instead of just the scale. You can do this!

WGHT1, You are singing my song this morning. Consequently, I had surgery only two weeks before you did and I have also HAULTED at 173. scale. WILL. NOT. MOVE. UGH

Doing much of the same things, joined a gym three weeks ago. Eating about 1000 calories a day (give or take 1-200) and can't seem to get that darn thing to move. I am hoping the "4 month stall" (as your post is titled) is a THING! :)
I have hit many stalls along the way but this one is a hanger-oner.

See my doctor later today and hoping he can give me some encouragement. I am losing my hair like crazy and that paired with this stall has me a little stressed.

I hear my doctor telling me (in my head, on a loop) that the surgery will assist with helping me lose 1/2 my excess weight. At the time I was 240 and he took me down to 116 as an "ideal" meaning (as he described it to me): I have about 124 pounds to lose, and the sleeve will help with 62. I so hope that is NOT true.

I'm coming on a month in my stall, too. Surgery was 9/21/16. I'm glad I'm not the only one, but I wish all of our stalls would break!!

My clothes are getting looser and I'm fitting into smaller sizes, so I know I have been losing inches, so I'm trying to hold on to that. It's getting pretty old looking at the scale and seeing the same numbers +/- a pound over and over again.

I'm right there with you on the ~month long stall. I've been losing and gaining the same 2 pounds over and over again. I thought I broke it the other day when I dipped down to 213, but the next day, I was right back to my 215 stall number. I'm not worried, I feel good, and I know I'm doing the work.

Have you discussed this with your doctor? If you are exercising that much you might be eating too little, which can cause stalls. Your body may be protecting itself from starvation.

Stalls are normal but a month warrants a check-in with the professionals, I think.

I am in the same boat. I have been stuck in the 160's for over a month. 160-164. Back and forth. I want a new middle number desperately. I have lost 54 since October. Have 40 more to go. I sort of feel like I have nailed my maintenance diet, but need to get back to losing. Not eating off plan. Just not losing. Sigh. Not really discouraged yet because I feel so good and the clothes are hanging off me. But want to get it going again.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
