I just came back from my doctors office and she told me that she cannot clear me for surgery until my respiratory infection goes away. I'm pretty bummed about the situation but at the same time, I do want to be well enough to have this surgery. I usually bounce back to health fairly quickly after being sick but for some reason, I can't seem to shake this cold that I had for so long. Is there anybody out there right now with any set backs for surgery clearance? Please share

Aw I hope you heal quickly ?? I don't have any set backs at the moment & I hope I won't have any when I get to where you are. I'm still in beginning process of doing nutritionist appointments & waiting to do my sleep apnea test but just hang in there you'll be at your surgery date sooner than you think. Best wishes ??

I haven't had any setbacks, but was feeling crummy with sinus problems so I went to PCP and got a shot of steroids. Cleared me up in a day. Hope you feel better!

My doc says NO steroids as it could cause problems with additional bleeding during surgery. I'm on the tail end of my cold, no med's just powered thru. Drink warm Water with lemon, really helps a sore throat! Get better soon!

I've had to do two rounds of antibiotics to try and clear up h-pylori. Finished 2nd round almost 2 weeks ago, but still have to wait ANOTHER two weeks to even take the test to see if the bacteria is gone. I can't be cleared until it is. I was hoping for a surgery date in March, but it's looking more like April now, so I definitely feel your pain.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
