Stall at 2 weeks?

Recommended Posts

It happens. Your body is healing and adjusting. I lost 34 pounds with the pre-op diet (one week for me) and the first two weeks and have been stalled since. I'm currently 4 weeks and two days post op. Yes, I'm eating foods now, but no where near what a normal diet would call for. This is something that is typical with weight loss and even wls. Just keep on keeping on and it will come off. That's what I tell myself.

Try to relax and know the weight will come off. Your body is still healing for major surgery and is holding on to all it's stores.......The first 6 to 8 weeks is all about healing from the surgery. Make sure to follow your surgeon's instructions to the "T"...........walk as much as you can as it will help you heal faster.

So try not to worry about weight for now.....I know that's hard but it will drive you crazy! If you have to put the scale away do it............

Hang in there!

Take Care,

Kathy

Take measurements. Pay attention to how clothes are fitting. Try on a pair of pants that were a little tight before. The REAL progress is in the inches lost. ????

Are you getting better about your liquids? I think in the beginning some of the weightloss is mostly Water. You are probably losing fat and replenishing your Water loss making it look like a net of zero.

Also, I've never heard of anyone who stopped losing weight permanently at week 2. It'll probably fall off next week. :)

I have had something similar - I lost 10.5 lbs in the first 10 days. I'm now 32 days out and I've been losing super slowly ever since and I'm down a total of 19lbs. I find it very discouraging at times, hearing about other people's rapid weigh loss but then I think "Wow, I lost nearly 20lbs in ONE MONTH!" That's a pretty good deal! I just keep on keeping on and have faith that given how few calories I'm taking in it should be almost impossible for me not to lose weight in the long term.

I'm embracing, but I've been stalled for 2 weeks now and I was only sleeved on 1/3 so this is super frustrating! I am thinking that despite getting my Protein, I'm not getting enough calories and I need to eat more. I have trouble keeping solids down still though and I'm also not meeting my Water goals. I am trying my best but I hate throwing up!

I just want to see those darned numbers move so I know all this hard work is paying off! Please, someone tell me where I can pick up some patience!

Work on meeting your Water goal.......and sorry there's no easy way to acquire patience but just hang in there......Just know there is nothing you need to do as long as you're following your plan..........it just sounds like to me increasing your Fluid intake is what you need to work on.

Good luck!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
