Anyone here just waiting for approval?

I'm sure it's just nerves, and i was told with BCBS it takes longer than most other insurance companies, but I'm going nucking futs. Had my initial dr appt in Dec, nut appt Jan 10th, and psych eval Jan 16th.... trying to wait patiently.... i estimated the max of 6 wks being Feb 27th.... 4 wks being Feb 13th. I called BCBS yesterday, and they said my status is still pending.... anybody in this boat with me?

I'm waiting for my paperwork to be submitted. Surgeon's office is scheduled to submit on Feb 28th, a full 180 days from when I started my required 6 month supervised program. I have Anthem BCBS of CA. I'm really hoping the approval process is quick! Hoping to be scheduled for surgery at the end of March.

I'm so anxious I can't stand it. My nerves :-(

My paper work was submitted on Feb 28th and I was approved on March 2nd. Only took 2 days. Extremely quick and I was extremely shocked. Surgery scheduled for March 30th.

Lucky!

Mine was "submitted" on 28 February too. But, my insurance says they haven't received anything and the surgeon's office says the faxed it--not sure who is incompetent, maybe both.

Hi, My insurance is Oxford UHC, I just had my last nutritionist appt, everything is done, waiting for approval.

I was told anywhere from two to five weeks.

I go for my final of my 6 months of appts on Monday. Anxiously awaiting to see how long it will take to get it sent to insurance and approved.

My journey started in December 2016. At my last apt Dr she said that they will be getting paperwork ready to be sent out next week ! They also are planning on an April surgery if things go to plan with Excellus BlueCross !! I was planning for June July but I guess sooner the better . I'm Happy , scared, excited and ready . I know I will have crazy anxiety weeks prior to surgery but I need this tool .

Hw 358

Cw 325

Gw 200/225

Dr goal is 230/240

Best of luck with everything! I'm feeling all of those emotions as well, but like you I need the tool also! Wishing you phenomenal health as you continue this journey!

It took them forever to approve me but I think it was mostly the Doctor's fault. I initially went to Kennedy, went though everything.... When I found out 1 month after they submitted my info that Kennedy wasn't a Blue distinction center... which meant I had to go to a different hospital. Kennedy ended up transferring all my info to Virtua and it took a good month from there before I got the approval. Surgery date is 04/11. I started this whole process in the beginning of October. Once everything is said and done, the whole process will take 6 months. Not that bad, considering some people have to wait longer.. Trust me when I say the time goes by sooo fast. This is a lifestyle change that will last your LIFETIME so there is no need to rush into it ;)

Good luck with surgery. I was finally approved for 10 April. Ten and a half days of pre-op diet to go!

You got this!

I have BCBS Federal. It took less than a day for approval. I was shocked. I am waiting now to select my surgery date.

I have BC/BS Federal, also, and am working through my checklist of required steps before approval. Did you have to do a sleep study?

I have FEPBLUE also, and I had to do a sleep study. I am not sure if it was an insurance requirement or surgeon requirement.

My file was submitted on a Wednesday morning, and I called that afternoon just to verify that it had actually been sent. I was told that the file was received and I was approved in under 3 hours. Even my surgical team was shocked at the quick turnaround.
