Best of luck to you! I had mine on Jan. 16th, and it was the easiest surgery I've ever had. No pain, and almost no downtime. They even found and fixed a hernia, which my surgeon said was not uncommon. You will do great, and you will be so happy you did it!

It is perfectly normal to be nervous. I was, too. But the surgery was so much easier than I thought it would be. The first few days will be pretty miserable, but you should bounce back quickly. By the third day post-op, I was much better. Just make sure to walk as much as you can to get the gas out, and follow the surgeon's directions to the letter.

Good luck tomorrow!

Hello, YES, I am scared. Mine is Jan 31, 2017. I'm on here to keep me occupied. lol I worry about pain, the intibation (sp?) which they say you wake up with and I hate stuff like that. They will take it out once they see you can breath on your own. Plus, you can't have Water or ice chips for that whole day until the next day after the leak test. I love Water. Anyway, I just want to get through it and the first week or two. I think it will be better when you can puree food and eat it if you can. I get scared and actually am morbid thinking what if something bad happens. I have had other surgeries such as Tummy Tuck, breast lift and reduction, 2 C sections, etc and never worried so much. Old age and worrying...lol Best of luck to all.

My surgery is tomorrow also and I'm nervous, too. I've just kept frenetically busy all week preparing and also doing some fun stuff. We installed a wood stove and I spent a lot of time getting wood etc., so this way I can think about coming home to a cozy fire instead of worrying.

There's nothing like a nice, warm fire! Their fireplace is one of my favorite parts of visiting my parent's home in the winter.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
