What a concept...

Recommended Posts

There is just something so peaceful about losing weight and knowing that you have a permanent tool to help you forever. Finally having control is such a new concept for me. Getting rid of clothes in my closet confidently knowing that I'm done with that life. My brain is changing and I am so positive now that I've got this. This has always been a problem for me and it's held me back in so many countless ways that I had to sit down and think about it all. The list of ways I held myself back was so long and it made me sad. There is such shame in losing and gaining your whole life and I have lost and gained MY ENTIRE LIFE! I know no one outside of us on this journey can understand why, like REALLY why, we did this. This is so mental and I'm not stupid enough to think this is just a weight thing. This is no different than a drug addiction and we have a reason (a different reason for all of us I'm sure) that we do it and our brains need to transition as well! What a beautiful day it was today as I went through my clothes and confidently tossed them for donation. I'm never going back! I'm growing as I shrink and I like it!

I think for a lot of us, it's a hard concept to grasp. Getting rid of those old clothes instead of tucking them away somewhere until we "need" them again. It's scary, but also very liberating to truly let them go.

You are so right!

Through your written words I can visualize this feeling.. I cannot wait to hear back from my surgeon's office! Pending insurance coverage.

Thank you for sharing this. Truly motivational

Yes! Well said! I've had a 3 size range for YEARS. So strange (and liberating) to get rid of those sections for good!!! Keep up the good work!

Don't hesitate, do it. I promise you won't regret it. If your insurance doesn't cover it then don't stop there. You have options. Best of luck to you❤

So great to hear someone say exactly what I am thinking, I have lost before and got down pretty good but I gained it all back. I'm probably having surgery in May sometime and you wrote exactly how I feel. I've saved all my skinny clothes because I can't wait to wear them . Life is great!

Inspirational words. I was watching a video on you tube about our brains/minds doing what we tell them to do, consciously or subconsciously.
If we tell ourselves we are not going back to where we came from then we won't. What power that is!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
