Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Recommended Posts

Well I travel to brussels by train at 1600 tomorrow. Not too nervous now after reading all your posts.

Making a point of travelling very light and as I'm there and back from bristol on my own, cheapest way for me though as I get free train travel and eurostar is only twenty quid each way anytime :-). Hope its not just me there what's is the hospital like, how long does the op take and is there any way of getting done first. Don't want to be sat bricking it for hours. Speak to you all soon as a bandster!!!!!

The Hospital is spotless and the staff are wonderfull all speak English and are very attentive and caring. the operation takes about 30 minutes but you are away for about 4 hours as they keep you in recovery. You don't get to choose what time the op is HIgher the risk the earlier the op I was next to last so 4pm but you won't know till the day and you are kept busy with one thing or another. You will be fine don't forget wear really loose waist banded clothes as sitting on the trains will be uncomfortable. You won't be let out of the Hospital till around 2pm the next day as you have an X Ray befor you leave and you won't feel like doing anything when you get back to the hotel as you will probably feel groggy and sleepy. Don't be frightened it will all be over in a couple of days and you will be on your way to a new you. Baarbs

Well at least Timeisnow has had the good manners and decency to apologise to you Maggs.

I dont think Maggs intended you to worry yourself stupid over the Zantac love, she was just giving her opinion.

Maybe we can forget the post and move on.

Debbie, how cruel is your gp, that was mean does she think the band is magic??

If that's the same Chris that was in surgery at the hospital, I have to agree....he is yummy. I invited him and the rest of the team to come to the US to the beach with me while I was going under anesthesia. He's welcome anytime.

Jojo, I agree with the other posters, I for one have no will power this being the main reason I got the band and I dont regret it for one second.

Its like someone putting their hand over your mouth to stop you eating, because if you do eat more than you should you will have pain and probably vomit sometimes, the discomfort you feel really stops you from eating too much.

Some people on here say that they have used their will power to help the band, but i never have. my fill in July was a bit too much, and over 3 months i lost 3 stone.

I had acid reflux if I ate or even drank anything before bedtime, and I'm talking 2 hours before I tried to sleep. I slept sitting up most nights and apparently according to my family became very miserable.

However I dont care cos its 3 stone I could do without.

So dont let anyone or thing put you off, you will cope with the band and it helped me no end, in fact I have had 2 bands implanted cos my first one developed a hole .

Time is now, I cant believe you posted that trash about Mmm, she is a lovely person, I have met her in real life and I am very offended for her, for the way you attacked her.

As she says she is only giving people the benefit of her experience, cos none of us are the same.

i think she really deserves an apology from you, because you have been very unfair to her, Maggs is a good person and wouldnt hurt anyone intentionally.

for your info i have apologisd for my tone and it was the truth not trash for your info!

i do not apologise for the worry she put me through!!

also i think you should think about what u say on this place too as all we get is you speaking about all your functions ie burping, farting, spewing, etc, etc to name a few!!

do u really think people who have been banded want to here that...or it helps them reading an old womens problems??

not nice either!

i would tend to agree mmm it was a little harsh, everyone has there own opinion and experiences so no one is 100% accurate as we all see things differently so we can only share our own thots.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha, listen to yourself, what age are you man, if were all big women then why you bothering so much. I dont doubt you may have been worried and I have sympathy for that but i really dont get your problem this week, your attitude stinks and be honest watch your tounge as you aint doing yourself any favours. I thought you were out of order in your tone to MMM and thats all i have said, nothing more so stop blowing it out of proportion, this forum should be a support not a slagging match. If your going to contiue with this farse then please exclude me from any conversations as frankly I have better things to be spending my time on.

Ok, I know I'm new, not even banded yet but I thought this forum was the one thing I could get involved in where your size wasn't something for people to hurl abuse at you for. No doubt we've all had enough of that from ignorant people that don't know any better, and we all know how it feels!

Timeisnow, "big sneaky women"? Really? I think you may have just crossed a line there, and although I am a newbie and you may think it's got nothing to do with me, I have to say I've seen no evidence of people on here being anything but supportive. I'm sure MMM had best intentions at heart, even if her advice may have inadvertently scared you, and EVEN if her advice was wrong.

And for the record, I was very grateful for the advice given by Freckles, in all it's gory detail!! Better to know what to expect. This is a forum related to surgery, which includes conversations about post-op problems / side-effects. Ta Freckles

Everyone else, thank you so much for being so friendly and making me feel welcome.

I would confirm with someone with medical knowledge about zantac, because a friend of mine had to stop useing it for 3 months before they were allowed the op. Take care.

THIS IS THE OFFENDING POST hardly the stuff to cause a grudge that last since the 17th June 2009.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
