Calorie and carb intake

Recommended Posts

How many calories and carbs are you taking in? Please include how far post op you are. I'm 3 weeks post op and have been taking in about 700 calories per day. Usually around 50 carbs. Is this normal? I asked my nut and she said not to worry about calories right now... But I want to know!!

I'm babywagner on myfitnesspal. Add me!

I too never could get an answer about how many calories I should be taking in. I am 4 weeks post op. It's easy for me to take in calories, I could easily eat over 1000 a day. I found that sticking to 700/800 calories a day right now works best for my weight loss. I aim for about 30 carbs a day.

The calories are not that Eventually eating 3 meals, with Protein shakes as needed for protein.Watch your carb intake. When you have carbs they should be whole wheat complex carbs.2 -3 ozs o Protein, 1/4 cup non starchy vegetables,1/4 cup carbs. You need 60 o more grams of protein a day and 64 ozs of Fluid. If you don't get enough protein and fluids you will fill sick or really tired.

You really shouldn't be worrying about calories from what I've been told. It's much more important to track your Protein, and make sure you're getting in enough. Chances are, you're taking in much fewer calories than before the surgery, so your weight loss will continue regardless.

My doctor wants me at 80-100 grams of Protein, and 64 oz of fluids (including shakes) and I'm currently in my puréed stage.

I definitely understand the curiosity though. I just count my calories as I track my protein. I'm usually at about 700-800 and I'm 2.5 weeks post op.

I'm 8 months out and at 800 calories per day. That goes up closer to 1000/day on workout days because I get hungrier and add a Protein shake to my diet. More importantly, I get anywhere from 65-85g of Protein daily. I try to stay under 40g of carbs daily.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
