I am able to get plenty of fluids down to stay hydrated. Only 9 days post op. When is it ok to start drinking coffee again?

I know each practice is different, but my doctor allows 12oz of coffee per day from day one. I add GENEPRO to my one cup a day to have it do double duty!

My DR told me no caffeine for first 30 days. I did drink Decaf just to get taste of coffee, started drinking 1 cup reg coffee a day after 30 days. My stomach cannot handle more than that. My surgery date was 9/27. Good luck.

My group said any caffeinated drink would not count toward my liquid goal. I am 3 months in and still drinking Decaf tea. coffee tasted terrible when I tried it.

Admittedly I totally cheated on this one. My doctor told me no coffee for two months after surgery but plenty of other doctors allow coffee right away so I started drinking coffee again 3 days after surgery. Obviously I recommend following your doctors orders, it did not effect me and it has always went down fine with no ill effects but entry of people in my Facebook group tried it early on and could not tolerate it so proceed with caution. Obviously don't try coffee again until you are getting in all your liquids and Protein on a daily basis, I had no trouble with this so it was not that big of a deal, but if your not meeting liquid and protein goals I definitely wouldn't waste stomach space on coffee.

I cheated a bit too I drink a lot of coffee but it did become an issue bc it's a diuretic and I needed to drink even more Water.

My team allows coffee right after surgery and I can count it as Fluid. It was very bitter the first week, but now I look forward to it every morning. I used to drink three cups but now just one satisfies me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
